Here is the first painting...and then the three that came after! I love the idea of committing myself to a painting a day. I've learned through painting and really anything in life that we hit plataeus along the way that might seem like roadblocks...but we always come out on the other side better, stronger, with new perspective and skill level...kind of like golf:) Unless of course you're like me and you just throw your club and swear never to play again once or twice a year...
But to push through, coasting on auto-pilot is a great lesson to learn. I've done it as a writer and now looking forward to experiencing it through my artwork! I'm hoping you will follow me through this journey because I believe there will be great stories and experiences (and no doubt frustrations) to share along the way...because really it's all those bumps and bruises that make the great moments sweet right?
The first painting is a peacock...kind of random yes. Honestly i just woke up in the mood to paint a peacock. Maybe it's all the talk of snow or the grey skies outside the studio window, but waking up super early before the bustle of a house with 2 small children, 2 big dogs and 2 crazy outdoor cats...oh and the husband of course is when i make time for runs, reflection, prayer and painting with my morning coffee...definately the most creative moment of my day. In that early morning time this crazy peacock popped into my brain. I am also working on a 10x 14 full size painting. I may try to add photos later of that one as it is finished.
Next are three sweet notecards. I must tell you I have become obsessed with painting still life florals. Don't know why, but I can't stop myself. And honestly, the notecards are just soooo cute in person! They have all sold within the day of being listed, these below included:) Yay.
Till tomorrow,
Vanessa:)
